I loved how a lot shops would have little displays on little platforms from the river.
These last three photos were taken from a gondola. I was very fortunate and I was given a free 20min ride as I bought an Inter Rail pass at the right time. Unfortunately, Jamie couldn’t come with me. 🙁 However, it was an amazing experience and very cool to see Venice at a different angle. I also picked a time of 7pm where the sun was low and kept peeking through different buildings which I think made for the most beautiful photos. I recommend doing a gondola ride but look up deals and mini tours before hand as they are super expensive to buy on the day individually. Viator.com is a great site for things like that.
Every where you go in Venice there is something interesting and new to discover. The buildings are beautiful and the little alley’s are very sweet. They also seem to put up a lot of plants on buildings and window sills as there are no parks or green spaces so I think everyone wants to just add a little touch where ever they can. There is just so much colour! I really love this city and would love to go back and explore even more.
Best cannoli in Venice!
Venice has some amazing window displays and one that always fascinated me was the pastas! The Italians certainly know how to make cool looking pasta!
I was a very lucky girl when Jamie bought me this fabulous yellow bow ring. I love it!
This was the cutest little shop that sold little open sandwiches that were delicious.
This jazz bar had a cool vibe but lacked atmosphere. I absolutely loved the decor and thought the bras on the ceiling were so silly and fun. I would go back, but I hope to find more of a buzz next time!
We went to Venice partly for our one year anniversary as our present to each other. I really enjoyed our time there and am so grateful to Jamie for everything he did for me and for coming over to spend some extra time together before I moved back to Australia. It’s been really, really hard being without him whilst he’s in England and I’m here but memories of Venice make it easier. I had a fantastic time thanks to him and I couldn’t have asked for a more lovely or romantic anniversary. I hope and am sure that we’ll have many more fantastic holidays.
Thanks for reading!
P.S. A massive thank you to Giuseppe for being our tour guide! Miss you Joe!
