So this will be the last post from Jamie and I’s little trip to Europe as after this we basically just spent time with family and friends. T in the Park was a lot of fun, but I was also quite sick. So I was a little boring at this festival. However, I’m not going to hide the truth, my favourite part of festivals is actually planning my outfits and makeup and getting ready anyway. I love getting to wear outfits that I may not wear normally, although I don’t really go crazy, I’m pretty standard. Anyway the drive from London Gatwick to Perth, Scotland was a bit long so we decided to stop in Manchester for the night. I absolutely loved Manchester and would love to spend more time there. The drive from Manchester to Scotland was such a beautiful drive though. I really recommend exploring that part of the UK if you haven’t before.
Day one was actually a beautiful day and it was sunny! We drank a lot this day and just explored loads. This was probably the best day out of the three. It was cold, but that didn’t really bother us. I wore my Topshop patterned skirt, a H&M knitted tank top and cross body bag, and Primark boots, hat and parka that I bought for the festival. I bought some fake nails by House of Holland and I absolutely loved the way they looked. They kept falling off which is super annoying but they looked great so I didn’t care about having to keep gluing them back on.
Day two ended up being so rainy, and I woke up that morning feeling so sick. Obviously the drinking didn’t help, but my cold symptoms were really bad. So Jamie and I decided to not drink and to drive to the festival to save us some hassle (and so much money, the shuttle service was REALLY expensive). We got absolutely drenched on the way in and the ground turned to pure mud. It was a lot of fun, but also really gross. I’m so glad that I wasn’t one of the many people who fell over that day. You would just see people wandering around, head to toe covered in mud! This day I wore some H&M khaki dungarees, my Topshop sheer mesh t-shirt, bralette and choker. I also used the same boots, bag and parka as the day before.
Day three was similar to day two and so I was again feeling pretty poorly and the weather was pretty bad to be honest. So on this day (as I was over being cold) I stole Jamie’s H&M hoodie to wear with the same parka, the same boots, the same choker and the same bag. I did though, wear this Topshop body and a really old pair of Missguided shorts. I did also forget my flower crown in the car. Whoops. In my defence, the only festivals I had been to prior to this one were in Australia, where it’s hot. Festivals in Australia are about those teeny tiny shorts and crop tops and I had no idea how to do a warm and cosy festival outfit! I failed, I was freezing the whole time.
We had so much fun and spent most of our time in the tents. My stand out acts are Annie Mac, Major Lazor and Craig David TS5. I did not expect to be into his set, but we wanted to see whoever was after him (that I can’t even remember now) and headed to the tent early. He is such a good entertainer and you can’t deny is voice is amazing. We barely saw any of the main stage acts and that’s partly because it was raining so much, but also because most of the acts weren’t really our jam. We like pretty dancy house tunes for the most part and are much more interested in the DJ’s.
Have you been to a cold festival? How do you survive them?
