I’ve this bag about six months now so I thought it was about time I did a post on it. The Candy Crossbody is my first designer handbag. I know it’s on the lower end of the designer scale but I am so glad that this is my first. It’s a really nice entry level bag. One thing that I love about it is that it is PVC which is a plastic, waterproof and easy to clean material! This makes it super hard to ruin and that it should last me quite a long time. The best part about this though is that it’s an animal/cruelty free material and that makes me so happy. Furla is not a vegan brand and does use both fur and leather which kind of sucks, but my opinion is that demand sends the biggest message. If a company sees profitability in their vegan products than perhaps they’ll be encouraged to produce more! I would love however to support more vegan brands so let me know your favourites!
In terms of the bag itself, this colour is actually not available anymore that I can see, but they seem to seasonally release new colours. The navy is my favourite of this season! If you do stumble across this colour somewhere I do recommend it though. I feel like this isn’t a colour I would have chosen a few years ago but I’ve been embracing pinks and neutrals lately. Being such a pale pink it goes with pretty much anything. I think it works with most styles from grungy to dressy and just adds a feminine touch to any outfit. The chain is super comfortable to wear as well which I was really glad about as sometimes the chains I’ve had on cheaper bags became really irritating. The only issue I’ve had with it is that it caused some pulls in a silky bomber I have. I would avoid wearing it by the chain with anything too delicate but it can be carried by the handle if needed. I find it irritating that you can’t actually remove the chain but it doesn’t bother me too much as I love the way it compliments the bag.
Something that I was pleasantly surprised about with this bag is how much room it actually has in it.I though it would be a struggle as there’s no pockets and theres definitely no stretch to the fabric. But I can fit my iPhone 7 plus, and everything I need for a day or night out. The best thing is that it can also fit my kindle as well! As long as I don’t have a cover on it anyway. This bag is honestly the perfect size for a small bag. Maybe not the best everyday bag if you like to carry a lot of bits and pieces but if you don’t like to bring a lot out with you all the time then this is great.
I honestly love this bag and think that it’s a great purchase. It’s reasonably inexpensive as well at $269AUD. However I am on the hunt to get a slightly larger bag too for everyday wear so please let me know what your favourite vegan brands are! There is a few Stella McCartney pieces I like the look of and there is a Love Moschino backpack I have my eye on too.
