I like to keep my routine pretty simple and this is probably the most complicated that it’s ever been. I know for a lot of people this is quite simple, but I enjoy having only a few products. However, I feel like this is the best routine I have had for a long time.
Mario Badescu – Acne Facial Cleanser
This is such a nice cleanser, it’s gentle but it doesn’t feel like nothing. I am susceptible to spots so I like having something that is actively fighting them. Mario Badescu is a cruelty free company however there doesn’t seem to be an available list of vegan products and I’m not fantastic at figuring this out but I’ve given it a go and it is actually unclear as it doesn’t state whether or not the glycerin is synthetic, animal or plant based. So we can’t be sure if this is a 100% vegan product or not, if you happen to know, then please share!
Mario Badescu – Glycolic Acid Toner
This toner is meant to act as a gentle exfoliator so it’s a pretty strong toner but I like it. As I changed my whole routine pretty much at the same time, it’s hard to tell which product is helping what but I do feel like my skin feels more refreshed and cleaner. I quite like this product but again I can’t find a clear cut answer as to whether or not this product is vegan. From my limited knowledge and my abilities to google, I think it is, which means that I probably will repurchase this again and again.
Kiehl’s – Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution
Don’t hate me but this product is most likely tested on animals which makes me feel guilty, also it does contain unspecified glycerin again so it could contain animal ingredients. But I did buy this as a short term product. I wanted something to help fade my acne marks so that I felt more confident when not wearing make up. It definitely seems to have helped my skin it is looking so much clearer. Again, as I changed all of my products at once it’s hard to see if I can attribute the change to this directly. However, the combo of the toner and this serum has definitely helped to even out my skin tone.
Origins – GinZing Eye Cream
I was gutted to learn not long after purchasing this that Origins is sold in China, I had it in my head that it wasn’t. Oh well, to be honest with you, I think that eye creams are probably a bit of a gimmick anyway so I wasn’t that interested in repurchasing this anyway. Not that I think it’s a bad product just that I’m not sure that it’s a necessary part of a skin routine. It’s more that after using this product for a couple of months I haven’t really noticed a change and thinking about it, I’ve never noticed a difference between using an eye cream or not.
Mecca Cosmetica – To Save Face SPF 30+
I love this moisturiser, it is so lovely. It sinks in really well, it’s not thick and you really don’t need a lot of product. I think that the most important thing you can ever do is protect your skin from the sun. So that means that my morning moisturiser has to have a good SPF rating. I honestly love this product and it’s vegan and not tested on animals AND made in Australia!
Obviously, I still have a bit of work to do with my routine, theres a few products that will be lost when they run out and a couple that may get replaced with recognised vegan products. If you have any alternate suggestions then let me know.
