|Lush – Aqua Marina Cleanser 100g – $16.95|
You may have noticed that in my post about the Angels on Bare Skin cleanser I loved it. I thought I’d never use another cleanser again, however, upon coming to Australia I noticed it really wasn’t doing the same job. My belief is that the water is a lot harsher in Brighton than in Perth and therefore I needed a lot softer cleanser in Brighton. My skin has broken out beyond belief especially around the chin area. My skin has literally lost the plot. So, if it doesn’t work, change it. I went into Lush, explained the situation and was recommended Aqua Marina. I have fairly normal to combination skin. It’s not really possible to categorise my skin as dry or oily, but it did tend to lean towards the dry side of things in England and when living in Australia it can be on the oily side. Since looking after my skin and using Lush, it has been pretty normal. Woo hoo!
So, the guy I spoke to said to try Aqua Marina as it contains the tiniest of salt particles that you can’t even feel to exfoliate the skin. It smells so good and has aloe vera to calm the skin. It is a really weird mousse like texture! It weirded me out at first but I quite enjoy using it. The mini chunks of seaweed is odd but I use a hot face towel and I tend to remove them all pretty easily. If you don’t use a face towel you might find this a problem. However using a face towel is super beneficial for your skin and helps to exfoliate, open your pores to get all the gunk out and it just seriously feels relaxing. Oh, and it’s a whole lot easier for removing cleanser. Get onto it.
The website says here that “Aqua Marina is a calming, effective cleanser and a joy to use. Like a pink mousse wrapped in seaweed, it feels so soft and wobbly that you’ll want to play with it, rather than clean your face with it. Smooth it on, rinse it off and your face feels smooth, smells sweet and looks brighter. It has calamine and aloe vera to soothe irritated skin, especially when you’ve been caught by the sun or the wind. The kaolin cleanses deeply and tightens your skin a little. Immediate result: smoother, softer and firmer skin straight away.”
I’ve now been using this product for a few weeks, not long enough for it to have had a serious go but I wanted to share my thoughts about it with you anyway as I have seriously noticed a difference in my skin. My pimples unfortunately haven’t gone away, but I have noticed a reduced redness and faster healing time so hopefully it’s just getting out all the bad stuff! Where I have noticed a difference is in the softness of my skin, it has really been smoothed and softened and even though I am a baby of only 20 years, I have noticed this has help get rid of those little lines, I don’t have wrinkles!! But my face doesn’t scrunch so much and it has firmed and tightened in a good way.
So far, I’m seriously loving this cleanser and recommend giving it a go for people who want firmer and more vibrant, smoother skin. I love the way this smells and it really does remind me of mermaids. I think this will be best for those on the oily side, but might not be enough for someone who has extremely oily skin. What I love about Lush is that if it doesn’t work, they let you swap it!
Thanks for reading!
P.S. I’m so sorry about the annoying little clothes tag. I didn’t notice it until I put the pictures on the computer and was too excited to post to wait until tomorrow to take more pictures.
