I bought something new and I really wanted to show it to you. I was eyeing off this particular jacket when it was in stock at Topshop last year but because I was going away for half the Australian winter, I couldn’t justify it. This year, I decided to #treatmyself and get it. I wouldn’t consider it an investment piece (it’s only $109.95!) but I am treating it as such. I will do a whole post on how I build my wardrobe and how I shop but I like to invest in particular pieces that I know I will get a lot of use out of. As I don’t buy animal products I would never invest in a real leather jacket which means that it’s pretty difficult for me to find a good quality leather-look jacket that I like.
One thing I love about this jacket is that it comes with a detachable faux-fur collar and it is super soft and super cute. I like the ability to accessorise up my jacket as it can change up the look and help you feel satisfied with your wardrobe. I love how this jacket is simplistic with a classic cut as it means that it will age through the fashion trends gracefully and should work with most, if not all, outfits. Which is why I do still consider this as an investment piece because these are the two main items on my checklist when I purchase investment items. In terms of quality, I know that this jacket potentially wont last me 10+ years but I have high hopes for it lasting me quite a while. The lining is really nice, the PU leather is quite thick and the seams are quite solid. I know someone who has had the jacket for a while and wears it quite a lot and it’s softened out really nicely.
I didn’t really need this jacket and I do have a lot of black jackets already but it is something that I’ve been wanting for a long time and I know that I’m going to get the wear out of it. I’m working on having more of a curated wardrobe and I feel like this serves as a warm jacket I can wear casually or more dressed up and will replace a few jackets that I have already.
Thanks for reading,
P.s. This dress isn’t the same as the one I’m wearing but wanted to include it in my “shop my look”. Also couldn’t find the regular fit version of the jacket but I know it is on the Topshop Australia website.
