|e.l.f. – Essential Brightening Eye Colour in Butternut – $3.00|
I’ve been really enjoying doing this series because I’ve actually found some really awesome products. I’ve tried a little bit of e.l.f. in the past and was pretty impressed. It’s a completely cruelty free make up brand! No animal testing!
This is a little eyeshadow quad with some really good warm neutral colours. I feel that in person the colours are a little lighter than they came out in my photos. The top left is a gorgeous bright colour that’s great for highlighting. The bottom left and top right are two good all over the lid colours for an everyday, simple eye. The bottom right is awesome to smoke up the eye and take it to a more intense look. It’s also a great colour to use as a liner.
These shadows are really creamy and pigmented. They are also quite shimmery which I absolutely love! These are a shimmer, not a sparkle. They have a very fine glitter which I really like and not a chunky glitter. It does fall a little but no more I’d say than any other shimmer shadow. I also find that these last all day on me. I can still see it when I get home after a 8-9 hour (or longer) day.
I’ve really been enjoying using these and am finding myself reaching for these everyday! The only things I don’t like is the brush (standard, no one likes the little foam brushes) and the packaging feels really cheap. I do worry about it breaking on me in my make up draw or make up bag. However, I reminded myself that I only paid $3 for some really good quality eyeshadows, so I like that the budget was put to good use!
