I already knew that I loved Empire Homewares as there is one on Beaufort St near where I live that I’ve been in many times and their Instagram is phenomenal. I didn’t know that the Claremont store was worth the drive to visit until I saw that they had a cafe in store and then I knew that on my next day off, I was going to go. Honestly, I just can’t with Empire Homewares in Claremont. There is the usual homewares and furniture, that are all next level beautiful, but they also have a beautiful selection of plants! I was blown away with their Fiddle Leaf Figs and Cacti particularly.
Jamie and I were so inspired by our wondering around that when we sat down for our coffee, we just couldn’t shut up! The store gave us so many ideas for what we want, and sometimes even what we didn’t want, for the house we will be building. The store gave me made me feel such a sense of excitement to decorate our home. I highly recommend a wonder through for anyone. They have a little bit of everything. The only thing I will add is that it isn’t Ikea, it’s pricey! However, you can see and feel the quality in the items they sell. You could easily keep the items for a very long time and know that they will transcend trends due to the quality and class that they possess.
The cafe itself is worth a visit too. They have really lovely staff and I particularly love the herringbone wood counter . The food also looked great but although they had a few vegetarian options they didn’t really seem to have vegan options which is a shame, especially because it was pre-made food like sandwiches meaning that you can’t really adapt them. If you need to do some homewares shopping than Empire Homewares is always a good place to pop into but the Claremont store is really the place to go because you can stop, reflect and have a cup of coffee before moving on to choosing what you want. There are also quite a few lovely home stores in Claremont in general as well. So it’s a good area to go hang out and get some inspiration.
